About Me.

My love of guitar began at the age of fourteen when I heard the album Led Zeppelin IV.  I began taking lessons at a local music store. Later I studied under a private teacher who came to my house once a week. The excitement of those lessons and trying to please my instructor has never faded away.  Thirty eight years later I am still enamored with the guitar. A famous composer once said the guitar is a mysterious instrument. I love teaching students the secrets that I have learned over the years. My guitar playing improved after reading the book "Effortless Mastery" by Kenny Werner. Although Kenny is a legendary pianist, his philosophy transfers to any musical instrument. I try to incorporate the principles of the book into my teaching method. I also use the "Cage Method" quite a bit in my methodology. My focus is on improvisation and basic theory.
